Byline: Mike Jones, THE WASHINGTON TIMES CLEVELAND -- There may not be any love lost between DeShawn Stevenson and LeBron James, but the reigning MVP said before the game that he was genuinely happy to welcome a healthy Gilbert Arenas back to Quicken Loans Arena. With Arenas limited by knee problems to just 15 regular-season games in the last two seasons, Cavaliers fans haven't seen Agent Zero ontheir floor since April 19, 2008, when he - although still not 100 percent - scored 24 points for the Wizards in a playoff-opening 93-86 loss to the Cavaliers. Before Game 5 of that series, Arenas sat in the visiting locker room at the arena and declared himself done for theseason because of lingering pain in his surgically repaired knee. And Arenas didn't play in the two visits to Cleveland last season.
Now seemingly back to his old self, Arenas received a nice compliment from James a short time before tipoff.
I'm a big fan of Gil and the way he plays the game, said James, who trained with Arenas in Chicago for a few days this summer. To see him come back healthy is good for the game. It's good for the NBA, andit's good for the city of Washington.
