Report: Lakers, Odom have 'productive' talks
Negotiations between Lamar Odom and the Los Angeles Lakers are back on, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

After the Lakers pulled their most recent offer last week, the two sides were back at the bargaining table on Wednesday.

Discussions between the team and the versatile forward were "productive," according to the paper's source, but there was no new deal "at the moment."

Last week the Times reported that the Lakers retracted two different offers — a three-year deal worth $30 million and a four-year offer for $36 millions, with the fourth year not fully guaranteed.

The Lakers currently have $83.8 million in salary on the books for next season, pushing them $13.9 million beyond the luxury tax threshold.

Odom made $14.1 million in the final year of his contract last season, but he also played an integral role in helping the Lakers win the NBA championship.

Odom has been publicly linked to the Miami Heat in recent days, which can offer the mid-level exception in a deal that could total $34 million. The Heat traded Odom to the Lakers as part of the Shaquille O'Neal deal in 2005.
