ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mario Chalmers, Shooting guard Dwyane Wade, Small forward Yakhouba Diawara, Power forward Michael Beasley, Center Jermaine O'Neal. Bench -- Forward Udonis Haslem, Center Jamaal Magloire, Forward Dorell Wright, Forward James Jones, Guard Carlos Arroyo, Center Joel Anthony, Guard Daequan Cook. PLAYER NOTES: --G Dwyane Wade scored 13 of his 25 points in the opening period against the Grizzlies. No other starter had more than two in the quarter. But even Wade looked off, at times struggling to get the ball above the rim on his 11-of-23 night.
--F Michael Beasley might have struggled early against the Grizzlies, but badly enough to play only 11 first-half minutes compared to 16 for F Udonis Haslem? At least Beasley had one first-half rebound, which was one more than Haslem. Beasley, though, closed with six points on 2-of-11 shooting.
--With F Quentin Richardson sidelined by a strained right hamstring that could keep him out for several more days, the Heat went with Yakhouba Diawara as its starting small forward against the Grizzlies. It was only the second action of the season for Diawara, who had played six minutes prior to Sunday. He played nine in Sunday's first half, his lone action of the night.
--Coach Erik Spoelstra said he went in that direction to keep F Dorell Wright in his new role as the first perimeter player off the bench. Wright had his moments again Sunday, including a nifty second-quarter feed to C Jermaine O'Neal that he followed up with a block against F Rudy Gay. Wright finished with 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--F Quentin Richardson (hamstring) was sidelined Sunday against the Grizzlies due to a strained right hamstring. He could miss additional time, with coach Erik Spoelstra saying the team plans a cautious approach.
--G Daequan Cook (eye) was available Sunday against the Grizzlies, but has not played since contracting a case of pink eye a week ago in Sacramento.
--G Chris Quinn (bruised foot) is out of his walking boot and available for his first action of the season. He has yet to make it off the inactive list.
