ROTATION: Starters -- Point guard Mario Chalmers, Shooting guard Dwyane Wade, Small forward Quentin Richardson, Power forward Michael Beasley, Center Jermaine O'Neal. Bench -- Forward Udonis Haslem, Forward James Jones, Center Joel Anthony, Guard Carlos Arroyo, Forward Dorell Wright. PLAYER NOTES: --G Daequan Cook, whose shooting percentage has been abysmal all season, was benched against the Trail Blazers. The return of F Quentin Richardson plus coach Erik Spoelstra's decision to move Dorell Wright back into the first-half rotation left Cook and center Jamaal Magloire as the only players in uniform not to see action against the Trail Blazers.
--Almost a year to the date that he was relegated to the bench for the majority of his rookie season after a blowout loss to the Blazers, F Michael Beasley erupted for 27 points against the Blazers, one shy of his career high, taking an aggressive stance that led to an 11-of-12 performance on foul shots. His previous career high for points from the line had been 10.
--F Quentin Richardson added a season-high 20 points against the Blazers in his second game back after missing four with back spasms. Richardson not only hit his trademark spot-up 3-pointers, but also was effective closer to the basket, scoring on post ups and leading the Heat with nine rebounds. "My main focus is on the defensive end, and I just go from there," he said after helping limit Blazers G Brandon Roy to only 11 points after the first quarter.
MEDICAL WATCH:
--F Quentin Richardson (back) is back after missing four recent games due to back spasms sustained during last Wednesday's game in Atlanta.
--G Chris Quinn (bruised foot) is out of his walking boot and available for his first action of the season. He has yet to make it off the inactive list.
