--The Heat is aware of the difference between finishing with the fifth seed in the East and the sixth seed. The No. 5 seed plays No. 4 Atlanta in the first round; the No. 6 seed plays either Orlando or Boston, whichever finishes No. 3.
In other words, finish with the fifth seed and have a chance at winning a first-round series. Finish with the sixth seed and probably face a first-round sweep. "We're all fans; we all look at it," coach Erik Spoelstra said of the standings. "But we're not going to be obsessed about what's going on in the standings with other teams because it's going to change so much."
--The Heat will retire C Alonzo Mourning's No. 33 jersey at a halftime ceremony in Monday's Orlando game. Mourning will be the first Heat player to have his jersey retired. Mourning, G Tim Hardaway and G Dwyane Wade have banners honoring their Olympic gold medals. The Heat also has jerseys hanging that honor former Miami Dolphins QB Dan Marino and former Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan.
--G Dwyane Wade (27 points) made nine field goals against Milwaukee, eight of them in the paint.
