
--There was an incident regarding Jermaine O'Neal's left knee brace during the second quarter Saturday. O'Neal wears a big brace, the type NFL linemen wear. New York complained the exposed metal scraped players' legs when they fought for rebounds against O'Neal. Referees told the Heat the metal has to be covered. O'Neal removed the brace for the last four minutes or so of the first half.
--New York's 67 first-half points were the most the Heat has allowed in a half this season. --Former C Alonzo Mourning will have his number, 33, retired at halftime of the Heat's game against Orlando on March 30. Mourning, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and seven-time All-Star, is the first Heat player to have his number retired in the franchise's 21-year history.
