Miami Heat Notes, Quotes 2009-03-01
--There was an incident regarding Jermaine O'Neal's left knee brace during the second quarter Saturday. O'Neal wears a big brace, the type NFL linemen wear. New York complained the exposed metal scraped players' legs when they fought for rebounds against O'Neal. Referees told the Heat the metal has to be covered. O'Neal removed the brace for the last four minutes or so of the first half.

--New York's 67 first-half points were the most the Heat has allowed in a half this season.

--Former C Alonzo Mourning will have his number, 33, retired at halftime of the Heat's game against Orlando on March 30. Mourning, a two-time Defensive Player of the Year and seven-time All-Star, is the first Heat player to have his number retired in the franchise's 21-year history.

QUOTE TO NOTE: "I felt I got a cheap shot. ... It's a switch certain people have so I hit that switch, and we weren't going to be denied after that." -- G Dwyane Wade, on the elbow he took from New York F Danilo Gallinari. Wade scored 21 points in the final 8:30 after the incident, leading the Heat to a 120-115 victory.
