--The Heat will honor its three Olympic gold medalists -- Dwyane Wade (2008), Tim Hardaway (2000) and Alonzo Mourning (2000) -- at halftime of Saturday's game against Dallas. The team will hang a banner in AmericanAirlines Arena to honor the trio.
--Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said he isn't surprised Shaquille O'Neal made the All-Star team. "He wasn't healthy for quite a bit of time at the end with us," Spoelstra said. "But he's had a chance to get healthy and get in shape and you see what he can do."
--Perhaps you saw Dwyane Wade's spectacular play against Washington on Wednesday during which he got a steal from Wizards guard Javaris Crittenton, barely stayed inbounds, threw a pass to Michael Beasley, got the ball back and while falling down threw an alley-oop lob to Daequan Cook, who threw down a nice dunk.
"Here's how Wade described it: "A lot of it is reaction. After getting the tip on the steal, my first thing was to save it inbounds. But then I saw Beas (Beasley) out of the corner of my eye real quick, so try to get it to him.
"Once he got it back to me I saw Dae-Dae (Cook) streaking. And before I tripped over my own feet threw it up to the place he could go get it because Antawn (Jamison) was kinda between both of us so I knew he had an opportunity to dunk it."
Wade said it was similar to the play he made in the Beijing Olympics.
"I got the steal then threw it back to Kobe (Bryant) for the dunk. It was a game-changer then and (Wednesday) it was a game-changer."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "We knew how hard this game was going to be. They play very well at home. They play well, period. We were aware of it, but we didn't act like we were aware of how good they were." -- Dwyane Wade, on the Pacers.
