--Sunday's game against the Bulls is part of a run of eight of the first 10 games at home. After Tuesday's home game against Phoenix and Wednesday's game at Washington, the Heat will have a five-game homestand. "That is on our radar," coach Erik Spoelstra said of the need to get off to a fast start, "but it's also a dangerous thing to get into. Our minds and our focus have to be just on each game at a time. "It sounds like a clich?, but you can get ahead of yourself or you could put unnecessary pressure on yourself as a team when you start looking at the big picture. Obviously, as a coaching staff, we always look ahead, just to stay on top of things."
--A moment of silence was observed before Sunday's tipoff in honor of former Heat center Alan Ogg, who died Sunday in his native Alabama after an infection reached his heart. He and Alec Kessler are the only deceased former Heat players.
--Curtains covered the end-zone balconies at AmericanAirlines Arena for Sunday's game, with the Heat reducing its capacity to 16,500 for games not expected to require all 19,600 otherwise available seats.
--The No. 10 jersey retired in the home opener in honor of Tim Hardaway was moved to a permanent position above the east end zone between the retired No. 33 of Alonzo Mourning and Dwyane Wade's Olympic banner.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "If you bring your A, B or C game, you are going to be on SportsCenter." -- Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro, on the defensive intensity required against Dwyane Wade.
