 --F-G Quentin Richardson was acquired from Minnesota in exchange for C Mark Blount. Richardson earns $8.7 million; Blount earned $7.9 million. Both players have expiring contracts. This was the third trade of the summer for Richardson, who started with Memphis but was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, then to the Timberwolves and finally to the Heat. Richardson, who could challenge to start at small forward, is good friends with G Dwyane Wade and F Dorell Wright. --Team officials have said they likely will fill their need for a backup point guard through a trade. Miami is believed to be just beyond the $69.9 million luxury tax. It currently has 14 players under contract. Most likely the Heat will look to make a 2-for-1 trade to acquire some salary cap space and fill its 15-man roster.
