--C Alonzo Mourning remains unsure if he'll return. Mourning, who will be 39 next month, tore the patella tendon and quadriceps muscle in his right leg on Dec. 17, 2007. He's been rehabilitating since then and recently began running, jumping and dunking.
"I'm working my butt off to try to get myself right physically to get back out there and play ball," Mourning said. "But if it doesn't happen, man, I've lived an amazing career. Really. The years of basketball have been good to me and my family and, unfortunately, all good things must come to an end." --Some numbers from Sunday's 104-94 victory over Oklahoma City epitomize the Heat's formula for winning during its 22-18 start: The Heat was 11-for-21 (52.4 percent) on 3-pointers. ... Miami held Oklahoma City to 47.2 percent shooting. That could start a new streak one game after its 35-game streak of holding opponents to fewer than 50 percent shooting ended at Houston. ... The Heat forced 18 turnovers, again using its pesky defense to jump-start an offense that scored more than 100 points.
--C Jamaal Magloire had 13 points Sunday against Oklahoma City and showed a variety of moves for the second consecutive night (he did it against Houston on Saturday). That could indicate he's ready to revert to his "Big Cat" days of old.
"Jamaal had an incredible impact on the game," coach Erik Spoelstra said. "Also, defensively he gave us a great presence with his size. He was very alert on all of our rotations."
If Magloire can give the Heat a hint of offense, it's only a matter of time before he becomes the starter and C Joel Anthony, whose minutes have been diminishing the last dozen or so games, comes off the bench.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I'm excited about the possibility of possibly getting out there and playing again. But if it doesn't work out that way I have nothing to hang my head (about) at all." -- C Alonzo Mourning, 38, who is contemplating a return while rehabilitating a serious knee injury.
