--This has been an interesting seven-game trip for the Heat. Saturday, a protest of the Israeli-Palestinian violence in Gaza prevented the team bus from getting to the UCLA men's gym for an optional practice.
"The streets were blocked, so we tried three or four different alternate routes," F James Jones said. Eventually, the team decided to return to its hotel.
That came on the heels of the team having to spend the night in Denver Thursday after the Nuggets game due to a mechanical problem on the team airplane.
--The Dwyane Wade-to-Daequan Cook combination has been successful at the end of quarters. Wade starts at the top of the key and then drives, drawing a double- or triple-team. Then he passes out to Cook for a three-pointer.
"I'm his bail-out man," Cook said.
Said Wade: "That's team basketball. Everyone has their strength. If your strength is having guys double-team or triple-team, that's what it is. You just hope to have guys ready for the ball and ready to knock the shot down."
--C Jamaal Magloire is becoming known as a bruiser. Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy equated him to a hockey "goon" earlier this month, saying his only role is to get rough with opponents. Magloire drew a flagrant foul Friday at Sacramento.
Coach Erik Spoelstra said Magloire is aware there's a "label" on him.
"He's a big body and he's aggressive and he will foul," Spoelstra said. "But it's got to be intelligent."
