--G Dwyane Wade ended Wednesday's opener at New York with 26 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and five turnovers. And he fouled out. He was visibly frustrated at times.
"I think he was a little frustrated because we were playing much differently that we did in pre-season and practice," coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He just has to make his shots and keep his confidence." --F Shawn Marion isn't upset he hasn't yet received a contract extension from Miami.
"I'm focused on playing ball," said Marion, who is believed to be asking for about $14 million per year on his extension. "Anything else dealing with that, you've got to talk to (Heat president) Pat (Riley) and my agent. You don't even need to ask me any more about that."
QUOTE TO NOTE: "I think they come here thinking that everybody here's showing up to see these two guys play. Confidence is not something I'm worried about with these two guys." -- Coach Erik Spoelstra, on rookies Mario Chalmers and Michael Beasley.
