--C Jamaal Magloire signed a one-year, minimum salary deal with the Heat. Magloire was an All-Star in 2004 when he averaged 13.6 points and 10.3 rebounds per game. A report on ESPN.com said Chalmers and Memphis Grizzlies rookie Darrell Arthur, a Kansas teammate, were caught with marijuana. The players have to repeat the four-day program next year. But until the league completes a review of the situation, no further action is planned against the players.
QUOTE TO NOTE: "Unless it had something to do internationally, with the Olympics or something like that, I don't think there's any question I've seen my last practice, my last game." -- Heat president Pat Riley.
