Marion also sat out Miami's loss Friday to the Orlando Magic, and Heat coach Pat Riley said the problem was exacerbated Saturday night when Marion backed into an object in a garage. Another starting forward, Udonis Haslem, also was held out of the game with a sprained ankle - despite his pleas to get back into the lineup.
Miami, which has been ravaged by injuries, had nine players available Sunday. Center Earl Barron was able to return after missing about two weeks with a sore knee.
Meanwhile, Dallas got forward Devean George back into the lineup for the first time in four games. George had been sidelined by lower back stiffness.
