Wright has played only one game for Miami since he tore his left meniscus on March 2 and had surgery the following day. He has battled pain and swelling in the knee since the Heat opened camp in late September.
Wright was expected to be able to resume on-court training in three weeks.
The fifth-year player has appeared in 134 games for the Heat, averaging 6.0 points and 3.9 rebounds, and was part of Miami's team that won the NBA title in 2006.
