Wade did it all in the Heat's biggest comeback victory of the season.

The superstar went up high for two blocks on dunk attempts by 7-footer Brook Lopez, including one in overtime and another late in the fourth quarter, and swatted Vince Carter's jumper into the stands in the final minute of regulation.

"I think Lopez is going to dream of Dwyane Wade tonight," Heat forward Yakhouba Diawara joked.

Trailing by 16 points in the first quarter, the Heat rode a season-high 19 points from Diawara and 17 points from Michael Beasley.

Wade's 3-point play with 37.2 seconds left in overtime stretched Miami's lead to 96-88, and the Heat held on for its biggest comeback of the season since Dec. 22 against Indiana, when it rallied from 15 points down.

"I'm 6-4 on a good day," Wade said. "I love having the ability to get up there and challenge the big guys and challenge people with block shots some times. It won't always go your way, but timely blocks is what it's all about."

Lopez admitted he was looking out for Wade but still couldn't get the dunks down.

"I just have to go up strong," Lopez said. "I can't be looking for him in the court."

Even Heat coach Erik Spoelstra sarcastically said Wade seemed everywhere.

"We had a pretty simple game plan for Dwyane on both ends of the floor," Spoelstra said. "Really all it was, was he's going to trap Carter on every single pick and roll. We're going to put Dwyane underneath the hoop and tell him to block anything that comes in there.

"And if they skip it out to the 3-point line, sprint out there and take that away too. And if that guy drives and kicks to somebody else, run that one down and try to block that. Basically, cover the whole court."

For the Nets, it seemed like Wade did.

New Jersey cut it to 99-96, but Carter's desperation 3-point attempt missed.

Keyon Dooling had 23 points, and Carter had 20 for the Nets, who won in overtime a night earlier against the Atlanta Hawks.

But Wade's late heroics was too much to handle.

"In the second half, Dwyane Wade displayed his dominance again," Dooling said. "He carried them to the mountaintop. He's incredible. He's amazing."

Both teams took big blows before the game even began.

Devin Harris, who leads New Jersey in scoring and assists, was resting a sore right hamstring and was inactive against Miami. And Heat forward Shawn Marion had back spasms and was a late scratch.

The rest of the starters would fill in fine.

Wade missed a jumper from just inside the arc as the fourth quarter buzzer sounded.

Wade had given the Heat an 85-83 lead on a pair of free throws, but Dooling hit a runner in the lane to tie it at 85 with 8.4 seconds left.

"We probably had opportunities by the rim where if we should have finished," Nets coach Lawrence Frank said. "These will be learning experiences for our guys in terms of how hard and how strong you have to finish."

Notes: Spoelstra said before the game that center Alonzo Mourning will decide if he will return in the next 3-4 weeks. Mourning, who still has a locker in the Heat dressing room, is rehabbing and has said he hopes to re-sign with Miami sometime this season. ... Harris also was sidelined for New Jersey's only other trip this year to Miami on Nov. 10, when the Heat won 99-94. ... The Heat, playing their second game in as many nights, improved to 2-5 in the second half of back-to-back games. ... Wade went into the locker room at the end of the third quarter with a bruised left knee but quickly returned.
